Measmer Takes Win Number Six at Concord
RE/Denny's #14 Team Sets Record for Wins
Bobby Measmer, Jr. and the Hughes Motorsports team put together a remarkable season in 2009, culminating with win number-six on their rookie season in the NASCAR Pro Late Model division at Concord Speedway on October 17th. Next up for Hughes Motorsports is the Snowflake 100 Pro Late Model event at Five Flags Speedway (FL) on December 5th.
Kevin Hughes and his Hughes Motorsports team have seen plenty of success over the years and hope for further success in the Pro Late Model ranks.
Another great night of racing for Bobby Measmer Jr. and the whole Hughes Motorsports team!
In the Late Model stock car division Bobby captured his 4th pole of the season. Starting 8th due to the competition invert, Bobby charged to the front to win his 4th feature win of the season, and collected the nights hard charger award in the process. This would be the 3rd sweep of the division’s awards in a row. The current points tally in the division is extremely close, however due to the low car counts this year, making big gains has proven to be extremely difficult. In twelve (12) events of the season so far, our only finish outside of the top 3, was a DNF early in the
season due to a crash (credited with 10th place)
In the Pro Late Model division, Bobby and the team have made remarkable improvements in the car over the season in preparation for the season ending North-South Shoot-out and Snow Flake 100 events. Crew Chief Shane Tesch and Bobby have been working hard to insure we will be competitive at these upcoming marquis events. Using last evening as a test event, Bobby qualified 6th, and worked his way up to 3rd, running comfortably and competitively during the 100 lap event. An untimely caution in the waning laps set up a green flag checkered finish, something we did not want due to a couple of local competitors who were only in the race to insure the other did not finish. At the drop of the green, one of the driver’s in question cut a tire due to contact and Bobby had to make evasive action to avoid him, pushing us back to an extremely disappointing 5th place finish. Bobby still brought the car home with hardly a scratch due to some heads up driving, and we are prepared for the final two (2) events in great shape.
In a tough night for Justin Potter, driver of the #14 Chico’s Bail Bonds Fast & furious four had him finish 6th on the evening, but maintaining 3rd in overall points, and continue to lead the Rookie of the Year standings.
As always, a big thank you to all our sponsors and partners!
