Measmer Takes Win Number Six at Concord
RE/Denny's #14 Team Sets Record for Wins
Bobby Measmer, Jr. and the Hughes Motorsports team put together a remarkable season in 2009, culminating with win number-six on their rookie season in the NASCAR Pro Late Model division at Concord Speedway on October 17th. Next up for Hughes Motorsports is the Snowflake 100 Pro Late Model event at Five Flags Speedway (FL) on December 5th.
2010 Season Quickly Approaching
for Hughes Motorsports
Kevin Gives the Scoop About the Upcoming Season
I know it has been pretty quiet from Hughes Motorsports since our last race in Pensacola, but we have been very busy in the off season. After Concord Speedway released the schedule for 2010, Bobby and I sat down and formulated a new plan for 2010. The speedway has reduced their overall schedule down to only 12 events for 2010. The season will include 12 races for the NASCAR Late Models, and five races for the Pro Late Models. They have also decided to change the premier series (NASCAR points division) from the Pro Late Models to the Late Model division. While we are certainly disappointed in this decision, since we wanted to avenge narrowly missing the 2009 Pro Late Model Championship, as they say “When one door closes, another door opens!”
Our current plan is to compete for both the Late Model and the Pro Late
Model championships at Concord Speedway. We will also run some PASS, ASA and CRA events in the Pro Late Model depending on sponsorship. The 2010 Snowflake 100 at Pensacola, Florida’s Five FlagsSpeedway will also be on our schedule for this season.
Many of you probably know that Bobby is the 2007 Late Model Champion, and I am certain will be both the 2010 Late Model Champion and the 2010 Pro Late Model PRO-5 Series Champion as well!
Just in case I forgot to mention – Bobby Measmer Jr. & Hughes Motorsports were the winningest driver and team at Concord speedway for 2009!
Both of the cars have been stripped, the chassis updated, media blasted, powder coated and had new Five Star Chevrolet Impala SS bodies installed. Both cars will be decaled identical with our familiar red/black stripes and the feared #14. The engine in the Late Model has been freshened and the engine for the Pro Late Model has been completely rebuilt by Hamner Racing Engines. We have spared no expense nor overlooked any chance to make improvements on both cars.
By carrying the same scheme for both cars, we are able to offer all of our partners double the exposure over past years. As many of you are aware, we were lucky enough to be able to showcase the Pro Late Model in many photo shoots, media events, tech articles, promotional materials, and it is currently featured in this month’s “Dick Berggrens’s Speedway Illustrated magazine” in the “Hometown Heroes” section. For all of our long term partners, we will be carrying your decals on both cars as well as our new hero cards and t-shirts.
We are currently looking for help to cover the weekly expense we incur to run as competitively week-in and week-out as you expect from us. The rear quarter panels, deck lids and hoods on both cars are available for you to showcase your business. If any of you are interested in increasing your involvement with our team, I welcome the chance to custom tailor your participation. We are always willing, as we did last year, to rotate some partners on and off the ¼ panels in relationship to your involvement.
We plan to do a studio photo shoot within the next 30 days. These photos will be used for the hero cards and to update the t-shirt graphics. We would need to establish graphic placement prior to the shoot to include in the hero card/t-shirt artwork.
On behalf of Bobby and myself, thank you for all your support!
